  • 🌾 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Ag Day Breakfast! From attendees, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to our agriculture and community partners—your support made this event a huge success in celebrating the vital role of agriculture in Decatur County. Nearly 300 people attended this year’s gathering.

🎀 This year’s keynote speakers—Pat Karst, Vice President at Halderman Real Estate and Farm Management; Brian Owens, Auctioneer at LandProz; and Aaron Gault, Founder of Advanced Agrilytics —shared decades of expertise in farmland management, auctions, agronomy, and data-driven agriculture. Pat Karst discussed the WAPI (Weighted Average Price Index) and how it is changing the way farmers buy and sell land, while Brian Owens reflected on the age of today’s farmers and the daily changes and challenges they experience, offering perspective on the evolving agricultural workforce. Aaron Gault highlighted the importance of residual fertility and data-driven soil management in optimizing crop production and sustainability. Together, their presentations provided attendees with valuable guidance for navigating opportunities in the modern agricultural landscape.

🌱 For years, this event has also supported the next generation of leaders in our local ag community. We proudly recognized North Decatur Jr-Sr High School as the $500 grant recipient for innovative Cricut-based school projects, and launched the Agripreneur Innovation Grant for young ag leaders ages 16–27, with the goal of investing not just dollars, but belief, encouragement, and opportunity.

πŸ‘ We’re thrilled to announce our first-ever Agripreneur Innovation Grant recipient: Logan Bedel, awarded $5,000! Logan will also receive business advising from Ginnie Faller of the Indiana Small Business Development Center, plus a one-year complimentary GDC Chamber membership with the Enhanced Marketing Bundle. Congratulations, Logan—we can’t wait to see what you build!

🌾 We also took a special moment to introduce Jim Stewart, owner of S&G Seeds and supporter of the Greensburg Community Bread of Life, who shared exciting news about the Farmers Feeding the Flock initiative. Thanks to the generosity of Jason Barnhorst, Kevin Weber, Alex Simmermeyer, and Tanner Volz with Cornerstone Ag, LLC, additional acreage was donated to support this impactful cause.

A special THANK YOU goes out to each of those involved in supporting this year’s Ag Day Breakfast. The success of this event is all thanks to you…πŸ©΅πŸ§‘πŸ’›
