Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, was the due date for the Strategic Investment Plan to be turned into the Stellar Communities competition. Greensburg successfully beat that deadline and after months and months of hard work and planning, we wait. 

Ahh, you say, but wait...it's not like we are sitting around waiting for State officials to read our 150 page document and presentation, hoping they will pick Greensburg as the winner over Madison or Vincennes, the other communities in the competition. No, the real hard work begins now. You see, on Oct, 3, about 35 officials from 11 different State agencies will be in Greensburg to hear our pitch. This is our chance to sell our ideas to the decision makers. Sort of like our version of appearing in front of the big dogs on Shark Tank.

The plans, with so much input from our community, are outstanding, in my opinion. When you see everything, I feel confident that you will be pleased with the way the future of Greensburg is being shaped. It wasn't without hard work from many people, volunteers in our community. All with one goal in common - improving the quality of life in Greensburg.

You will learn more about these plans as time goes on and the personal presentation nears. I think you are going to like them, no, wait, I believe you are going to love them. These are improvments that make our community more attractive to current residents and those considering relocation to the area. They are wonderful plans, well-thought out plans, plans that have legs. Our community is pushing forward toward wonderful progress.

I for one, can't wait to get it all accomplished, Stellar designation or not.
